7″ tall, 5 3/4″ side and base diameter, condition is perfect, no chips or crazing. Schneider, Steffisburg (of Thun, Bern, Switzerland) Pottery Pitcher FolkArt Majolica has a farmer (and chicken) on one side and a goat on the other. Absolutely charming. 1923-2006.
Fully decorated, made from red earthenware clay along with a complex polychrome slip-decorated design.
Signature: Signed on the underside with a hand-incised arrow-shaped mark combined with the letter “S” representing the mark for Steffisburg Pottery. In addition, there is a hand-incised number “445A.”
