Scavo Hand Blown Vase

Mid-century art glass. Beautiful “bud vase” made by the Italian Scavo technique. Just a couple of tiny spots where the ribbing is missing. Does NOT take away from the value or appearance of a well-worn (ancient Roman glass-style) piece of pale aqua blue mouth blown glass.

Approximately 7″ tall. Italian Scavo handblown bud vase meant to imitate ancient Roman glass. (Italian, “excavation”) A technique involving the application to the surface of an object a substances that when heated to about 1470°F (800°C), fuses and creates an effect similar to weathering, thereby imitating glass from an archeological excavation.
