Description
Pair of 20″ x 24″ signed R. Colao still-life paintings on Masonite. There are a couple of white lines across the top border as shown in the copper kettle painting which could be covered with a frame or restored. As they are on Masonite, a damp soapy soft cloth will restore their lustre. Buyer pays for shipping. They are being sold as a pair.

Rudolph Colao was a member of Allied Artists of America, Artists Equity Association of New York, Hudson Valley Art Association, Knickerbocker Artists of New York, and Rockport Art Association. He taught at the Art Students’ League of New York, and The Scottsdale Artists School in Arizona. Articles on the artist have appeared in American Artist Magazine (March 1975), Southwest Art Magazine (March 1982), American Artist Magazine (May 1982) and Focus/Santa Fe (Aug/Sept 1988). He received many awards, from the “Grand Prize” in a show of over one thousand artists in the Washington Square Art Exhibit in 1960, to an “Excellence in Painting” award at the Rockport Art Association in 1995, and he is listed in Who’s Who in American Art.
