Adapted from the bio pasted on Verso: Harry Winker, born 11/9/1923 in Leipzig. Spent his childhood in Leipzig. First he studied at the Akademie fur Bildende Kunste, Dresden. This was followed by studies in Danzig with Prof. Pfuhle. After 1946 he had free studies in Munich and took educational journeys to the Iberian Peninsula, Italy, Switzerland, France, Northern Africa as well as to Turkey and the Orient. His paintings are in many well-known German and foreign galleries and in art collections.
