Eleanor R. Maroney passed away July 20th, 2015 while residing at the Baptist Home of Rhinebeck, N.Y. She was born in the Bronx on September 2nd, 1918 to Theresa (Luppinacci) and Joseph C. Mucci. She attended school in the Bronx and met her future husband, William R. Maroney, at art school. They were married on June 21st, 1942 in St. Helena’s Church in Parkchester. They had one daughter, Lenore Ellen Maroney, who attended Villa Maria Academy, where Eleanor was very active in the Mother’s Guild for twelve years. She worked as a Dental Assistant in the Bronx. In 1967 her husband died suddenly of a heart attack. In 1968, she moved to Sleepy Hollow Manor in North Tarrytown and worked at Philipsburg Restoration. She was interested in history and art and took art courses at Marymount College. She liked to work in oils, watercolors, pastels, screen-printing and other mediums. She loved music and played the piano and organ. In 2002, she moved to Rhinebeck, N.Y. and resided in the Schultzville area until 2009. Due to health issues she then moved to the Baptist Home.
