The Red Sail by L. Rosan, DAC Collection

Born in Amiens, France, Louis Rosan studied art at Ecole des Beaux-Arts d’ Amiens from 1941 to 1944.  He received a diploma from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs de Paris in 1947, Laureat du Prix du Pientre, 1956, Laureat du Prix des Vikings, 1957, Laureat du Prix Feneon-Universite de Paris, 1961, Laureat du Prix de Taverny, 1973, Invite a la Premiere Biennale de Paris, 1959. Louis Rosan has participated in exhibitions in all major Paris salons, and was a member of the Salon d’ Automne and the Salon des Independents in Paris.  He has also had group and one-man exhibitions in Vannes, Amiens, Grenoble, Tehran, New York and Palm Beach.  Rosan’s paintings have been purchased by the State of France, the City of Paris and by collectors in England, Japan, Belgium, Holland, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, USA, India and Kuwait.WRITTEN BY PHILLIPS GALLERIES
