12″ x 14 1/2″ (includes a thin white border) watercolor on paper, unsigned. This is a charming folk art (naive) depiction of a square dance in a barn. It was painted to be used on a jigsaw puzzle and includes many characters and faces. It’s lots of fun to study. DAC provided her artwork for puzzles and greeting cards in addition to wall decor. Pauline “Polly” Knight Jackson died at 86 in 2004. She was born in 1918 in Memphis, Tenn. She attended Newark, NJ schools and graduated from the Parsons School of Design in NYC, where she lived for 20 years.  She spent summers in Brookfield, moving to Randolph, Vermont permanently in 1965. She was an accomplished artist and illustrator who illustrated several children’s books, greeting cards and popular jigsaw puzzles.  Her style is unique and recognizable.
